The woodland collection is a series of paintings that aim to entice the audience into a reflective experience of one's own life journey. Each painting has an opening path into the woodland built up with several layers using atmospheric techniques to create mist and light providing a sense of the unknown beyond the wood

Life is one big journey through love, laughter, loss and grief, a path that changes as time goes on. We learn we become wise, and we adapt to whatever situation we are met with. Do we ever have time to reflect on how far we have come or notice the
smaller details in life and nature and see that we have similarities, connections, roots, and losses as the seasons change? My work has depth and layer after layer of highlighting
the details and complexities of nature and human emotion but also showing the beauty of the world, we live in allowing the audience to stand and reflect for a moment.

My name is Carly Champion I am a Welsh Artist living in South Wales. I have painted since a very small child, creating is my way of communicating with the world. I am neurodiverse and would often take my sketchbook and sit for hours in nature capturing the smallest detail. I have a BSc in Community Health and a master's degree in art Psychotherapy. Whilst working clinically as a therapist I paint in my studio most evenings.
